Billboard, a prominent American music publication, previewed on the 30th that 'Arirang' has reached the summit of the 'Billboard 200' chart (dated April 4). The album debuted with 641,000 album units, marking it as the highest weekly achievement for a group album since unit tracking began in December 2014. Out of these, 532,000 were attributed to pure album sales, which include both physical and digital purchases, setting a new benchmark for the highest weekly group album sales in more than ten years.
Globally, BTS has dominated music charts. They have led the weekly rankings on Spotify, a major global audio and music streaming service, for the period March 20-26. This includes topping the 'Weekly Top Albums', 'Weekly Top Songs', and 'Weekly Top Artists' charts. Impressively, the lead single 'SWIM' claimed the number one position on the 'Weekly Top Songs Global', and all 14 tracks from the album secured positions within the top 30.
The track 'SWIM' held the number one spot on Spotify's 'Daily Top Songs Global' and Apple Music's 'Top 100 Global' for nine days from March 20-28 and for seven days from March 23-29, respectively. Moreover, all tracks from the album continue to rank on the latest chart updates of both platforms. Even ten days post-release, the entire album, not just the main track, continues to enjoy broad popularity, illustrating the global music audience's affection.
In other news, BTS is scheduled to perform the 'BTS WORLD TOUR 'ARIRANG'' at the Goyang Sports Complex Main Stadium in Goyang, Gyeonggi Province, on April 9, 11, and 12.
